Child Speech Pathologist

Beth Amy Fine, MA, founder of Fine Communication, became a speech-language pathologist because, even as a young child, she felt that the ability to communicate effectively was perhaps the most important factor in one’s life.  Before establishing Communication Remediation, on Long Island in the 80’s, she worked in Northport Public Schools. She was part of a team who developed the first preschool screening for speech, language, and learning delays and was featured in Newsday. Beth was the first provider of speech therapy for the CPSE in Suffolk County. In 1999, Beth sold her practice and established Fine Communication, PC in Manhattan.

Our diversified staff of speech-language pathologists is all NYS Licensed and has extensive experience in a variety of settings such as: schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and homecare.

We believe in an eclectic approach to therapy. Drawing on more than 40 years experience we know that using only one approach to remediating a problem may not be the fastest, most efficient way to meet a client’s needs.

We are providers with some insurance companies and assist our clients in obtaining authorization for speech therapy services. It is suggested that you call your carrier for plan benefits and exclusions. We have a sliding fee scale so that no person has to be deprived of therapy.

Visits are conducted in our office at 120 East 56th Street (between Park and Lexington), which is conveniently located near all subway and bus stops.
